3 tips to strengthen your digital network.

May 13, 2021

In these uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to stay in touch with your customers. We are in the third wave of COVID-19, and it is a good opportunity to look at alternative ways to connect with your customers safely. If you haven’t built a robust digital network to communicate with your customers, now is a great time to review the following tips to help you keep in touch with existing customers and reach new ones.

Here are some excellent tips for raising your digital presence.

1.       Increase your social media presence

Your customers are already on social media and are likely checking in much more frequently. This is a great place to share what you are doing to follow safety protocols while working on projects. It can be helpful to increase your posting frequency to ensure you are showing up in their news feeds. If you aren’t on Instagram, this is the perfect platform to show photos of completed projects you are proud of to gain the attention of new customers.

If you have some downtime, now is an excellent time to update your Facebook page, Instagram, and website.

2.       Take advantage of virtual meetings

You can still have meetings with your clients virtually. Use video conferencing apps, like Zoom or GoToMeeting, to see your clients. You can also share your computer screen with your reno plans or other projects to make sure you and your client are on the same page.

3.       Get creative and start a podcast

A great example of a popular industry podcast is Construction Brothers. Brothers Eddie and Tyler Campbell are sixth-generation builders who now own a virtual building and construction company. Their deep roots in the industry pay off here as they tackle various construction topics and talk with leaders who are pushing the industry forward.

The podcast is entertaining and informative and also reaches a large audience that can turn into customers.

Starting a podcast is relatively inexpensive, and you can make them any length. Some content ideas could include giving tips and advice on projects or having a special guest on your podcast to make it engaging.

There are many other ways to stay connected. You can use Facebook Messenger to message your customers instantly. Other social media platforms like Instagram have message features too. Or you can send an email or text, and if you want to connect old school, a phone call works too!

Keep in mind that the impact of the actions you take today will outlast the pandemic, and customers will remember how you made them feel. The messages you put out in the marketplace must be genuine and meet the needs of your customers. By doing this, you will build trust with your customers for now and long into the future.
